Leila Taghiyar earned her B. Sc. in Animal Biology from University of Isfahan, Isfahan, Iran in 2001 and continued her graduate studies in University of Lorestan jointly with Royan Institute where she worked on differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells to cartilage. She joined Bone and cartilage team of Royan Institute in 2006 and began her PhD research on limb regeneration with transgene of mesenchymal stem cells. She developed new blastema like-cells for limb regeneration. As of now, she is a principal investigator in Royan Institute and her research is focused on limb regeneration, differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells to bone and cartilage and its clinical utilization.
