Biodiscovery initiative

Biodiscovery initiative at Royan Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Technology was established in 2014. Scientists from various disciplines of biology, phytochemistry and genetics were teamed up to establish drug discovery platforms by main focus on natural products. Over the last few years, they could establish cardiovascular, pancreatic beta cells and neurodegenerative drug discovery platforms using both in vivo zebra fish and in vitro cell culture. Biodiscovery initiative is fast growing to enable high throughput natural product screening in order to serve as a reference center for phytopharmacy.
