The Histology Laboratory was established in 2004 to provide specialized histology services required by the Royan Research Institute, as well as to support and deliver essential training to researchers and students. This laboratory offers comprehensive histology services, including the preparation of frozen sections (cryosection) and tissues embedded in paraffin and resin (paraffin & resin-embedded tissues), along with various general and specialized cellular and tissue staining methods. Additionally, various immunostaining techniques are performed in this lab. Tissue and cell processing for both scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM and TEM) is carried out, including the preparation of ultrathin sections and their staining.
